A tradition every year for the Tremco CPG Korea factory is to gather and make Kimchi in the warehouse compound. They distribute the Kimchi to the elderly and less fortunate living around the area.
Kimchi is a labor-intensive task that requires skill and know-how; making it challenging for seniors to make the dish. In Korea, it is customary to prepare and store Kimchi at the beginning of winter to have enough vegetables to eat until the following spring.
“This practice has been ongoing for years, and to carry on the tradition not only benefits those who receive the kimchi, but it serves as a bonding activity among the staff”, said Hong Sang Park, Tremco CPG APAC Area Director of North Asia.
Kimchi is a preserved vegetable side dish that Koreans eat at every meal and is one of the most famous Korean foods globally.
