In November 2020, Tremco Construction Products Group (CPG) Asia Pacific (APAC) began construction on a new manufacturing facility in Malaysia. The company recently commemorated 25 years of business operations in the Southeast Asia country.
Located nearly 24 miles north of Tremco CPG APAC’s current plant in Kepong, the new facility will be situated in the heavy industrial zone of UMW High Value Manufacturing Park in Serendah, Malaysia. This location was chosen because of its accessibility to other Asia Pacific markets via Malaysia’s major port network.
The new Serendah facility will allow an expansion of production capacity, catering for the predicted growth of Tremco CPG APAC and ensuring undisrupted supply to construction projects across the region for many years to come.
“The new facility will be three times larger than our existing facility and will strengthen our foothold in the Asia Pacific market,” said Jackson Kho, Southeast Asia Area Director for Tremco CPG APAC. “We are seeing an increase in demand across the region for locally produced and innovative construction solutions that improve the built environment, and we’re excited to be a leading supplier for this developing market.”
“As ASEAN (Association of South East Asian Nations) is projected to become the 4th largest economy in the world, our investment in the region will help us to keep up with demand, and continue to deliver excellence to our customers,” added Saptak Roy, managing director for the company.
Aside from exporting its products to most countries within ASEAN—such as Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines and Vietnam—the Serendah facility exports to South Korea, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Australia, India and the Middle East as well.
