1. How long have you been with RPM and what is your role?
I joined the RPM Family more than 16 years ago. I am based in Johannesburg, South Africa. I was appointed as the Vice President of the Global Service Centre (GSC) in January 2020 and the journey has been incredible so far.
My role involves leading the GSC in Mexico and India, overseeing the strategy, growth and development, and the implementation of our services across all the RPM Business units around the globe. My role in the GSC is to deploy highly skilled associates who specialise in operational effectiveness, efficiency, analytics and optimising critical business functions, like finance, IT, operations, compliance, business intelligence and sales. The GSC is central to RPM's ability to quickly and nimbly scale and grow their business operations without having to focus on the day-to-day operations. The best part of my role is the management of the relationship between the onshore process owners and the Global Service Centre. It’s a process of continuous engagement to make sure we always have the confidence of our stakeholders at heart and the comfort that their offshored processes are in safe hands.
2. You have had tremendous growth with the GSC. What is your secret?
The GSCs growth is driven by our ability to deliver. We deliver on services and solutions at the highest levels of efficiency and effectiveness in collaboration with our onshore business unit leaders. The secret lies in the approach to our delivery. We don’t view ourselves as an offshore centre, we are a part of the team. We truly believe in “One RPM.” The only difference between a GSC associate and an “onshore” team is the ocean; otherwise, we are fully integrated and aligned to each brand and their strategy.
3. What is your favorite part of the GSC?
I get to work with the most talented associates in the world. They are nothing short of inspirational. I am constantly in awe of them. Together we challenge, innovate, and add value to every part of our organisation. It continues to be a rewarding experience, meeting all the business unit leaders across our community, learning from them and understanding what their businesses challenges are. The best part is working together with everyone to find solutions and synergies across the value chain, big or small.
