During the COVID-19 pandemic, many essential businesses around the world have been faced with the extraordinary challenge of maintaining operations despite a severe shortage of personal protective equipment and other critical supplies—forcing companies to find alternative solutions to keep their employees and customers safe.
Tremco’s Weatherproofing Technologies, Inc. (WTI) business was no exception. With more than 500 field technicians, along with additional personnel, operating across North America, WTI lacked the hospital-grade disinfectant needed to thoroughly clean its tools, trucks and equipment multiple times each day—just one of its many strict safety protocols.
After estimating the company would require 5,000 gallons of disinfectant solution for a two-month supply, WTI’s Vice President Erika Dahl reached out to Bill Spaulding, Rust-Oleum’s president, for support. In just two days, Rust-Oleum worked to get an order placed for its Concrobium® Broad Spectrum Disinfectant II, a plant-based, hospital-grade disinfectant solution that joins the ranks among Rust-Oleum’s many powerful cleaners proven effective against SARS-CoV-2, the cause of COVID-19.
In addition, RPM Wood Finishes Group (WFG) teamed up with Rust-Oleum to supply a total of 3,600 spray bottles to WTI from its stock inventory to house the Concrobium disinfectant. Within less than two weeks, the order was shipped to 15 WTI sites across the U.S. for distribution to its field technicians.
Thanks to Rust-Oleum and RPM WFG for working together to provide WTI with the resources it needed in order to maintain operations in the face of these challenging circumstances.
