RPM is committed to creating a leadership development culture as one of the critical keys to its success. Developing this culture starts with better conversations. For that reason, the Better Conversations Everyday (BCE) leadership workshop was launched back in February 2020.
Since then, this program has trained more than 750 employees worldwide—all with certified internal trainers. These trainers were selected across all four operating groups and are passionate about developing the professional talent of their fellow associates.
The goal of the BCE workshop is to build coaching skills, drive better business outcomes and, ultimately, create lasting change. Imagine the impact of a workforce that possesses the courage and skill to discover truth, tackle difficult issues and maximize collaboration.
During an eight-hour workshop, attendees learn and practice four core behaviors that can then be applied during real workplace challenges: listen to understand, ask powerful questions, challenge & support, and establish next steps & accountability. These learned behaviors help to build trust and create immediate results.
The BCE initiative will continue to be a critical component of RPM’s leadership development program moving forward, with more workshops being offered in the future. These upcoming workshops will not only focus on the four core behaviors, but will offer associates the opportunity to strengthen learned skills through refresher workshops.
