Pettit, a part of RPM’s Modern Recreational Technologies business, was recently named the 2021 Most Innovative Marine Company by Soundings Trade Only at this year’s International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition and Conference (IBEX) in Tampa, Fla. The award recognizes Pettit’s innovative work with many new products, pricing policies and industry-exclusive warranties for the marine industry.

Despite the extraordinary challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic, Pettit continued to successfully drive creative and strategic innovation across the business throughout 2020. By implementing improvements to its R&D laboratories, increasing warehouse and shipping capacity, and investing heavily in its people, Pettit was able to not only continue to promptly service customers, but also introduce a total of 12 innovative new products to the market.

Some of the key products that Pettit added to its portfolio were the Odyssey® Triton and Trinidad® XSR multi-season, triple-biocide antifouling paints. These powerful coatings feature industry-leading biocide technology while also being environmentally friendly. The Trinidad XSR antifouling paint will be introduced to market on January 1, 2022. In addition, Pettit also launched ECO HRT®, an ECONEA®-based antifouling aerosol that is safe for all underwater metals. AnchorTech® Adhesives and Sealants were also introduced in fall 2020.

Featuring cutting-edge technology, Pettit’s new adhesives are easy to use and aggressively priced. In addition to these new product innovations, the company introduced its industry-leading Hull Defense (HD) limited warranty, which covers against hard growth for up to 24 months. It is the first multi-year warranty of its kind to hit the marketplace.
