The MantroShield line of food-grade acids from Mantrose-Haeuser was recently honored with the Ruby Award for Supplier Innovation, which recognizes breakthrough product innovations from the supplier community that advance the confectionery industry.
Introducing fat-free encapsulated acid crystals to potentiate the sour flavor of gummies, licorice and other confectionery products, MantroShield incorporates leading-edge coatings to tackle common quality issues associated with adding acids to confectionery products, including sugar inversion, hygroscopicity, moisture contact and storage temperature.
Presented annually by the National Confectioners Association (NCA), the Ruby Award for Supplier Innovation is awarded to companies whose efforts improve the ability of confectioners to manufacture, distribute, market and/or sell chocolate and candy. Award recipients are selected by a panel of NCA’s manufacturing companies.
