The brainchild of David Hutchinson of Tremco Commercial Sealants and Waterproofing, the Rising Stars Program began as an idea in August 2020 and has since grown into a full-fledged inter-company development program for minority- and women-owned business enterprises (MWBEs), as well as youth in the construction field.

The Rising Stars Program will launch its two branches this February 2022. The Youth Development program, based in New York City, Boston, and Newark, will have 10-15 students per location. This 3-month program will conclude with a paid internship within one of the Tremco CPG companies or other partner organizations. The curriculum focuses on sustainability and will go through the entire construction process; from an architect’s vision and design all the way to the trades that bring it to life. The presenters will show not only what they do but also how they made that path for themselves. It aims to inspire a new generation into the industry and show how broad the opportunities can be.
