As I write this update on May 1, we have had 20 reported cases of COVID-19 globally. For a company with 15,000 employees worldwide, our number of cases remains very low. We have had only one serious hospitalization, and most of those who have contracted the virus have fully recovered. This is due to your efforts to follow our protocols for healthy working conditions in our facilities and to work remotely, when possible. Please continue to follow these safe working practices. As these numbers reflect, you are making a difference with your families, in your workplaces and in your communities.
Included in this edition of the RPM Around the World newsletter is an editorial that was written by Randy McShepard, our vice president of public affairs and chief talent officer. Randy joined RPM in 2007 and among his many responsibilities is the management of our leadership development programs across the company. His editorial explores what the world may look like when we emerge from the COVID-19 crisis. It originally ran in Cleveland’s local newspaper, The Plain Dealer, and I encourage you to read it.
I wish you and your families happiness and good health during this challenging period.
