Dryvit’s Woodlake, California plant has recorded water savings for 2021 as a result of investing in and installing a new power washer.
Blenders at the plant need to be power washed when colors and products cannot be mixed. The power washer removes residual material from the previous batch, in the blender, when new batches cannot be run directly without washing.
In 2020, the plant consumed 1.06 gallons per unit produced. In August of 2021, a new power washer that took less time and reduced water usage was implemented. Water usage was lowered to 0.83 gallons per unit produced. This is a water savings of 12,380 gallons per month, simply by replacing the power washer.
