With community outreach at the forefront of its company culture, DAP has a long history of supporting its local community. In honor of this mission and in partnership with CollegeBound Foundation, DAP is offering a new scholarship opportunity for Baltimore City high school students pursuing a career in chemistry, material science or engineering. These STEM careers play an integral role in creating DAP’s innovative products.
“Making a positive impact in our community is a large part of who we are as a company, and education is a critical foundational element to create opportunities and expanded options for future careers,” says Jeff Ackerberg, president of DAP. “By partnering with the CollegeBound Foundation for this scholarship opportunity, we can serve our community in a new way by helping local high school graduates achieve their goal of receiving a college education.”
CollegeBound Foundation operates on-site in more than 20 different Baltimore City public high schools. The organization not only administers over 240 privately funded college scholarships—like the new DAP scholarship—but also provides full-time college advisors and need-based school funding. Currently, CollegeBound scholarships and grants support more than 600 Baltimore City public high school graduates pursuing a college degree.
