Since its humble roots in 1865 as a two-man sealing wax manufacturer for food canning, DAP has grown to become a brand of choice by professionals, DIYers and families around the world. Over the past century and a half, DAP has created hundreds of cutting-edge products that help its customers to build, maintain and improve the spaces where they live, work and play.
A nearly 30-year veteran of DAP, Ron DeBrosse got his first glimpse into the caulk and sealant market when he started working at a hardware store as a teenager. Put in charge of the caulk aisle, DeBrosse had the opportunity to learn about DAP’s patch and repair products.
DeBrosse joined DAP in 1990 as a marketing intern in the packaging and labeling department at the company’s Tipp City, Ohio, facility. Since then, DeBrosse has held nearly a dozen different jobs within the company. His career has evolved from an entry-level sales role where he serviced home centers to a sales territory manager, and later involved a return to the office environment as a manager of channel marketing.
In June 2018, DeBrosse had the opportunity to move closer to home as a regional sales manager for DAP’s Midwest region. Based out of Indianapolis, Ind., he leads a team of seven sales territory consultants who are responsible for a variety of regional distributor, home center, mass merchant, hardware, paint, lumber and industrial accounts.
“Working for a company that has been around for over 155 years is really reassuring that it’s not going anywhere any time soon. Over these last two years in particular, we’ve invested so heavily in people, innovation and manufacturing,” DeBrosse shared about this experience working at DAP. “We’re only getting bigger, faster, stronger—quicker than we ever have before.”
