In November, the DAP Dallas plant was awarded the 2021 MS-168 Growth Award, RPM’s premiere operational excellence award. In 2020, this same plant was awarded the MS-168 Plant Award. The DAP Dallas plant has utilized the tools of MS-168 to become RPM’s highest performing manufacturing facility, which resulted in receiving awards two years in a row.
February 8th was a day of celebration at DAP Dallas, Mardi Gras-style. The day included a cajun food truck for lunch, decorated common areas, music, games and the required beads and masks. Frank Sullivan, RPM’s CEO, visited the DAP Dallas Plant and after touring the plant joined the team for a dessert reception to formally present the award.
His remarks acknowledged the tremendous three years of growth experienced at DAP Dallas. Frank thanked the associates for “… their work, success and example of operational excellence.” Frank introduced the Challenge Coin and how the Cathedral Builders compares to the DAP Dallas Associates. To celebrate their achievements, every DAP Dallas associate will receive a challenge coin.
DAP Dallas supported unprecedented growth in the demand for DAP products despite inconsistent raw material supply. The facility improved their capability, without significant capital investment, and used their MS-168 learning to produce 1.5 million more cases of products while at the same time continuing their journey of increasing capacity and capability to support the DAP business. Congratulations to the DAP Dallas Team for their accomplishments!
