The global COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically impacted the lives of millions of people around the world, including the often-forgotten homeless population. As health officials work to mitigate this crisis, many government-mandated stay-at-home orders continue to remain in effect—but what about those who don’t have a place to call home?
In an effort to help his homeless neighbors with no way to shelter in place, Construction Products Group (CPG) Europe’s Window/Façade Category Manager Simon Pronath, along with his fellow bandmates, developed the #HelpForHomeless campaign in just two weeks. With a goal of raising 5,000 Euros ($5,425.40 USD), the campaign aims to generate awareness for Germany’s growing homeless population and the lack of resources available to them as a result of the crisis—such as independent homeless projects, which are often dependent on donations.
As part of this campaign, the group wrote a song in German called “Wohin,” which roughly translates to “Where Will That Take Us,” and created a music video—all while complying with social distancing restrictions. Both the song and video are available for free on Spotify and YouTube. In addition, the song can be downloaded via a number of streaming services, such as Apple, Google, Amazon and more.
All proceeds collected as part of the #HelpForHomeless campaign are donated to critical homeless projects in Germany like “Off Road Kids,” an organization working to provide shelter for the homeless youth in major cities like Munich, Cologne, Berlin, Frankfurt and Hamburg.
Thanks to Simon Pronath from CPG Europe and his talented friends for helping to garner much-needed awareness, support and assistance for their homeless neighbors during this global crisis.
